'Omniscience' (2023) Evaluation

This evaluation details the creative process behind "Omniscience", my A-Level short drama film. The film explores the "Revelation" prompt, focusing on John, a young man who gradually uncovers that his life, friends, and family are all part of a fabricated reality within a TV series.

The evaluation discusses the reasoning behind my creative decisions, drawing inspiration from films such as Nick Rowland's 'Slap' (2014), Caroline Bartleet's 'Operator' (2015), and Daniel Montanarini's 'The Arrival' (2016). It covers my approach to auteurship, performance, narrative, genre conventions and subversions, and thematic representation. Additionally, it delves into the aesthetic choices made in cinematography, lighting, mise en scène, costume, sound, and editing to achieve the desired effect on the audience.
